Musik und Malerei

A live conversation between painting and classical music, created with artist Andre Willi and violinist Maja Willi.

Music meets painting

An artwork made in the moment

Musik und Malerei brought live painting and classical music together at Living Museum Basel. While Andre Willi painted, Maja Willi on violin and Amin Asgari on guitar responded to the colors, gestures and changing atmosphere. The musicians let the evolving image guide their phrasing, creating an open exchange in which sound influenced the painting and the painting inspired the music.
